Our active family is seeking a top-notch, flexible, caring, and dynamic Nanny to assist with the care and development of our three children. Ages of children range from three to nine years old. This position is for a dedicated professional with a genuine passion for the care and education of children. The candidate will be responsible for all aspects of the children’s care and wants to be an integral part of developing the children into well rounded and grounded individuals.  The children are both home-schooled and participate in a traditional school setting. This is a non-smoking household.

 

Duties/Skills –

Be flexible, in terms of schedule to accommodate the family’s needs, and available to travel with the family to multiple locations including international travel. 10-12 weeks per year.
Given the family’s active lifestyle the candidate is expected to create and maintain a structured routine for the children.
Experience with 3 children at one time.
Comfortable working in a team but also taking the initiative and being a self-starter.
Maintain a safe and healthy environment.
Tend to the emotional well being of the children.
Partner with the parents to instill the family’s philosophy and values on a daily basis.
Support and reinforce manners and social skills for the children according to the methods as instructed by the parents.
Work with home school teacher to continue home-schooled curriculum for the children.
The children love the outdoors and are very active; develop and implement play-based learning and educational activities in conjunction with teacher.
Organizational projects relating to children: Rotating toys/books regularly, wardrobes current and organized, taking toys & clothes for donations.
Drive them to/from school and activities in car provided by the family.
Responsible for cleaning up after the children; work in-conjunction with other household staff.
Newborn experience to assist with personal hygiene and overall care to include changing diapers; sleep routines; sleep training; reading.
Managing school calendars, keeping up with school newsletters.
Plan extra-curricular activities on a monthly basis both at home and while traveling.
Preparing and planning nutritious weekly menus/meals for review and approval in advance.
Run errands as needed
Pack/unpack and organize activities for travel related destinations that ensures the correct gear for the different destinations. Cold weather vs. Warm. Swimming/Camping etc.
Be professional and have the ability to observe Employer/Employee boundaries that are required at all times. The home environment is relaxed but the family expects a high level of professionalism and service to be given in this career nanny role.
Maximizing the value of the family’s time through your service.
Summer schedule will require July/August 10 days on traveling and 10 days off.  The following is a typical non-summer week that will be interrupted throughout the year as the family travels with and without the children which is when we are seeking a great deal of flexibility to allow the family to have your support.

 

The schedule rotates with teacher-

M-W-F beginning at 6:30 AM to wake, clothe, prepare breakfast/lunch and feed the children prior to school. Tue/Thu late start, late stay. 1PM-8PM.
School hours are 8:30AM-2:30PM.
Between 8:30AM-2:30PM is the time to be proactive about the organizing, cleaning, planning for the week or day of all things related to the children’s life: i.e.; home school curriculum, extra-curricular activities, menus, shopping, errands (household if necessary).
2:30PM is pick-up time for the children Tue/Thu. Doing quite time/taking naps for an hour or so; afterwards working and playing with the children.
Day will usually end around 5PM.
On call every other weekend that rotates with other team members.
Requirements –

5+ years experience as a nanny
Excellent, stable work history and references
Clean driving record
Good swimmer
Non-Smoker
Fluent in English
Legal to work in the US
Preferred but not required –

Bachelors and/or master’s in early childhood development
Spanish would be a plus
CPR certification
Compensation-

Hourly DOE
2 Weeks paid vacation
Paid OT
Extra day rate pay for traveling with the family
