A bilingual family in Greenwich is seeking an experienced German-speaking Nanny to care for their two young children, aged 4 and 1. This is a long-term, full-time position for someone who is genuinely hands-on, organised, and confident managing the day-to-day needs of young children while creating a calm, engaging environment. The family is looking for a nanny who can naturally introduce the German language through play, conversation, reading, and everyday activities rather than formal teaching.
The role includes all aspects of childcare, from maintaining consistent routines to planning enriching outings and helping the children learn and grow through creative play and exploration. The ideal candidate is proactive, dependable, and comfortable balancing the needs of two young children in a private household setting. The nanny will also accompany the family on occasional domestic and international travel. This position is Monday through Friday, averaging 50 hours per week, with compensation of up to $45/hour gross depending on experience. Key Responsibilities:
Provide attentive, age-appropriate care for two children aged 4 and 1
Maintain consistent daily routines, including meals, naps, school schedules, and activities
Handle school pick-ups and drop-offs safely and reliably
Teach and encourage German language skills through play and daily interaction
Plan engaging outings, playdates, and educational activities
Prepare healthy meals and snacks for the children
Organise children’s bedrooms, play areas, clothing, and belongings
Support the children’s emotional, social, and developmental growth
Travel with the family occasionally, both within the US and internationally
Work collaboratively with parents to maintain a positive and structured home environment
