A close knit family are looking for a lovely nanny to join their family and help them look after their three boys aged 1, 4 and 7 years of age.
The family spend a large amount of time in both the UK and South of France and so the nanny must be up for travelling 5-6 months of the year.
The family unschooled their children and believe in more creating learning environments, lead by the children on a daily basis. They are looking for someone who is very open minded and open to alternative education as well as someone who approaches childcare in a gentle way. The match for them is very important and they are looking for someone who supports their values, but the candidate does not need to be trained in it in any way. It’s more about finding someone who is open to learn and grow with the family and ultimately provide their children with a fun, stimulating, creative upbringing where the children learn through their environment, their interests and their own individual needs.
Someone who is willing to get lost in the children’s world and help make it come to life would fit in well.
Although the family let the children freely dictate their learning journey each day, they do have structure in terms of sleeping and eating routines. The family will always sit down and eat together and the children have a fairly solid bedtime.
Both parents work from home and own their own businesses. The role will have elements of sole care, however the parents are very hands-on and so someone who is able to work as part of a team a must.
Someone who is also open to learning more about their values/theories would also fit in.
The family are based on a big estate in East Sussex as well as a farm in the South of France. They also travel to other locations around the world on holiday so someone up for travel is a must. The family would consider someone even for a year, however the role is also long term should the nanny want longevity.
Some keys words for the family are – Forest School – Waldorlf – Gentle Parenting – these are the core values behind their parenting style.
The ideal candidate will be someone who loves the countryside and outdoors, who is creative and interested in learning through play/environment. The parents don’t need someone who is going to come in and changes things, they are super happy with how the children are going and really need someone to assimilate their style and become part of the family in that sense.
The family have housekeepers, cooks and drivers etc, however the nanny will need to be up for being part of a team and work within that dynamic.
The family are very open to a nanny just starting their career.
