Second time parents currently working from home are looking for a highly seasoned Newborn Care Specialist for their 2-month-old. The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of expertise in infant care, evidence-based practices, and specialized soothing techniques, while staying current with leading newborn care philosophies and literature.
Responsibilities:
- Provide hands-on care for the newborn, including feeding support (breastfeeding, bottle, and pumping routines), diapering, swaddling, and sleep conditioning.
- Implement and adapt soothing and calming techniques, drawing from respected resources such as The Happiest Baby on the Block and the “Five S’s” method.
- Educate and support parents in best practices for infant sleep, feeding cues, bonding, and developmental milestones.
- Establish and maintain healthy sleep habits, using gentle sleep shaping methods appropriate for the baby’s age.
- Monitor the newborn’s health, behavior, and patterns, and communicate observations clearly to parents.
- Maintain a safe, nurturing, and structured environment in line with current pediatric recommendations.
- Provide guidance on nursery setup, baby gear, and household organization for optimal infant care.
Schedule is Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. (50 hours) with flexibility needed
Temporary contract starting on September 2nd until the end of the year.
Rate up to $45/hr DOE.
