A private family based in Chelsea, London is looking for an experienced Russian-speaking nanny to care for their two children, aged 3 and 5. The youngest attends nursery, and the eldest is at school, so this role is ideal for someone who enjoys balancing busy mornings, school pick-ups, and fun, engaging afternoons. Both parents work full-time and are looking for a nanny who is warm, organised, and confident taking sole charge while creating a happy, structured environment where the children can thrive. The family employs a full-time housekeeper, so this is a fully child-focused position with no general housekeeping responsibilities.
The ideal candidate will genuinely enjoy helping young children learn through everyday experiences, encouraging creativity, independence, and curiosity while speaking Russian throughout the day to support bilingual language development. The family is looking for someone who is proactive, dependable, and happy to travel with them several times a year. Whether it’s reading stories, organising playdates, exploring local parks, or helping with homework, they hope to find a nanny who will become an important and positive part of their children’s lives.
Responsibilities:
Provide sole-charge care for two children aged 3 and 5.
Manage school and nursery drop-offs and collections.
Speak Russian with the children throughout the day to encourage natural bilingual language development.
Plan arts and crafts, reading sessions, educational games, and learning-through-play activities.
Organise park visits, playdates, and age-appropriate outings.
Prepare healthy meals and snacks for the children.
Support daily routines, independence, and developmental milestones.
Help with homework and school projects when appropriate.
Travel with the family several times each year.
Provide occasional babysitting a couple of times per month (scheduled in advance and paid in addition).
Schedule: Monday to Friday, approximately 45 hours per week.
Accommodation: Open to both live-in and live-out candidates.
Salary: £50,000–£60,000 gross per year, depending on experience.
