Burlingame, CA – An active, caring family of five (children 9, 5 and 4 y/o, who are in school full time) is seeking a top-notch, flexible, caring, and dynamic Household Manager/Nanny to assist with the care and development of their three children and perform other duties as needed for their residence. This position is for a dedicated professional with a genuine passion for the care and education of children and will partner with the parents to instill the family’s philosophy daily (Love, Community, Teamwork, Learning, Fun & Adventure) The candidate will be responsible for all aspects of the children’s care and wants to be an integral part of developing the children into well rounded and grounded individuals. Some duties may include driving children from school, sporting activities, play dates, preparing meals for the children, homework assistance, shopping/errands, maintain the family calendar and coming up with fun and entertaining activities for the children.
In addition, the candidate must be experienced working in a fine home and be able to demonstrate skills in all aspects of common household needs. The candidate has excellent laundry skills, assist current housekeeper if needed, meal prep/cooking/clean-up, and other tasks as needed. The Client prefers someone who can work independently and diligently, has excellent organizational skills, takes pride in their work, is dedicated, conscientious, and has an eye for detail. The candidate must be honest, and possess the highest-level integrity, as these characteristics is of utmost importance to the client. The candidate must look at this as a high-paced job with high expectations around project management and completion on a weekly basis and take pride of ownership in the work performed. The culture of the home is informal, however the expectations for quality service and efficiency are high. An outgoing, intelligent, proactive, positive, organized, patient and loving type of personality will do very well here. Ideally, somebody that has previous experience working with multiple children. Duties:
General care for children – ensures they are properly prepared for school/events
Assist with homework/school projects as needed. High level of comfort engaging academically on elementary school homework. Designing education ideas and projects for the younger children.
Assist with preparation of nutritious meals for the children and family, passion to cook. This means not only meal prep, but thinking about creative new meals that the children and family would enjoy and ensuring that meals are prepared across breakfast, lunch, and dinner as needed.
Transporting the children to and from activities and appointments if, and when needed, including arranging carpool with friends to optimize the schedule
Create fun, engaging age-appropriate activities for the children while at home or vacation
Lead by example, to assist with building and teaching the children responsibilities (with the parent’s guidance)
Housekeeping as needed so the residence is always guest ready (tidy-up as needed)
General laundry for the family, including basic clothing care (pressing, steaming)
Maintain an organized schedule/calendar for children/family (Google Calendar)
Manage a log of what is sent to and returned from the dry cleaners; inspect clothes upon return
Organizing the home as required and a focus on keeping each area of the home highly organized, neat, and in order proactively without being asked to do so
Running errands/shopping for the family and developing the shopping list on their own
Pickup and drop off mail and packages, including managing Amazon returns and others through account access provided by the family
Assist with planning and execution of special events
Help keep the house nicely decorated (holiday theme décor, flowers, etc.)
Assist with vendor/contractor management when needed
Daily update on progress made and plan around key projects assigned.
Schedule:
Live-Out: Monday – Thursday; 12:00 pm – 8:00 pm plus Friday; 7:00am – 5:00pm, with significant flexibility to work nights and weekends as needed
Live-In: Monday-Friday 7:00am – 9:00am; 12:00pm – 8:00pm plus additional hours as needed with significant flexibility to adjust hours on a day-to-day basis as planned in advance

Requirements:
Must be able to work well independently as well as work closely with parents
Prefer someone who is proactive, creative, kind, friendly, and honest
Willing to jump right in and play with the kids to earn their trust and affection and coach them through their growth and challenges with parents.
Valid driver license with impeccable record and experience driving children
Ultimate flexibility is a must to accommodate the family when needed
Current with all immunizations, including Covid-19 and Boosters
Excellent communication skills
CPR and First Aid Certification
Must be punctual
Professional etiquette
Must be able to read and write English
Minimum 5+ years related experience serving as a Nanny/Family Assistant for a private family or in a similar role [must include time as a household manager or family assistant]
At least one role with a household over 3 years, and preferably 5 years, that included school-aged children where the job had a heavy household manager focus in addition to taking care of the children. Ideally has had multiple 3+ year roles with different families
Experience working with multiple children
Excellent organizational skills
High flexibility on hours (late nights, weekends, overnights) as needed with ~1 weeks notice.
Willing to overlap at least 1 week of PTO with family’s vacation
