A family in Fort Greene, BK is looking for a nanny that has experience with children that have special needs. The family has 3 children ages 7, 9, and 12. The 9 year-old is diagnosed with dyslexia, ADHD, anxiety and struggles with impulse control. Therefore, they are looking for somebody who has patience and a thorough understanding of how to help him regulate his emotions during transitions etc.. on a daily basis. The older child is very independent and the youngest is also the responsibility of the nanny when parents are not available. Duties include: Childcare, light housekeeping in children areas, laundry, and preparing healthy balanced meals. The parents are also helping with cooking etc. so their ideal candidate is a great team player, fun, active, energetic, and motivated to help children in their care thrive!
Schedule: Monday-Friday 2:30pm – 8:30pm; with flexibility to work Saturdays as needed to make 40 hours per week. Family will pay and guaranteed weekly salary based on 40 hrs per week, regardless if less hours are worked and will pay for any additional hours if asked to work more, which is not typical but instead having flexibility with the weekly scheduled days would be preferable. In the summer the family travels to Fire island and a private room is provided to the nanny and they ask them to come out 4-5 days per week and can be flexible to incorporate weekends here and there. The candidate must know how to swim, be NYC savvy, and have experience with ALL of the above. Pay is $30-40 per hour, 2 or 3 weeks paid vacation (family asks that some vacation is taken when children are at sleep away camp) and sick/personal days.
