A family residing in Prospect Heights, Brooklyn, is seeking a nurturing and experienced Part-Time Nanny to care for their two children, a 5-year-old girl and a 3-year-old boy. Both children are in school during the day and mom and dad work from both home and the office. The family is currently transitioning from their previous nanny and is looking for a reliable and compassionate caregiver to join their household.
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 2:00 PM – 6:30 PM
Responsibilities:
- Afternoon Routine:
- Arrive at the family’s home promptly at 2:00 PM.
- Initiate household tasks, including laundry and light tidying up.
- Prepare for the children’s pickup from school.
- Child Pickup and Care:
- Walk to the school to pick up the 3-year-old son at approximately 2:50 PM.
- Provide structured and engaging activities for both children upon their return home.
- Attend to the specific needs of the daughter, who has ADHD and speech delay, with patience and understanding.
- Meal Preparation:
- Prepare simple and nutritious dinners for the children, such as pasta or chicken nuggets.
- Summer Arrangements:
- During the summer months when the children are in camp the schedule will remain the same.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience working with children
- Patience, empathy, and a compassionate approach to childcare are paramount.
- Strong organizational skills to manage household tasks efficiently.
- Excellent communication skills to liaise with both parents and external professionals, such as therapists or teachers.
- Ability to prioritize safety and well-being while fostering a nurturing and stimulating environment for the children.
