Fantastic nanny opportunity to work for a wonderful Canadian family who are moving from Monaco to Bermuda for two years. They have two boys – a two year old and a one year old. The older boy will be attending pre-school. The family is bilingual, English/French so someone who speaks fluent French is essential and must converse in both languages and assist with teaching the children French.
A minimum of 3 years childcare experience (preferably with toddlers and infants), a strong swimmer and excellent communication skills are a requirement. Excellent knowledge of babies and routines are a bonus. You will need CPR/First aid training and be willing to obtain a Bermuda driver’s license.
Duties will include general childcare duties, daycare runs, organizing educational/recreational activities, preparing meals and maintaining a safe and nurturing environment. A housekeeper will be responsible for cleaning, however the candidate should be highly organized and willing to do tidying/light housework. Both parents work flexible hours in the business center of Bermuda and from their home office.
The ideal candidate should be energetic, caring, responsible, enthusiastic and reliable. This role would suit someone who is fit and active and who enjoys the outdoors. Someone that likes to cook is a bonus.
The family travels extensively so you must be available to travel for various periods of time at short notice. Travel will generally be to Canada, South of France, and the Caribbean so a valid, up to date passport is essential.
You will be required to work 40-45 hours a week but must be flexible to include evenings & occasional weekends. During family holidays, when you will generally be travelling, you will be required to work full-time hours. You have one Friday a month off to have a long weekend – New York, Miami and Boston are all within easy reach (around 2 hours). There is a large ex-pat community in Bermuda.
Separate accommodation will be offered within the house or ground of the property. You will be required to drive the family car and will have access available for your use in your spare time to get around the island.
Salary offered is dependent on experience. 30 days annual leave per year. Starts mid to late August for a period of one year, subject to work permit application time (approx 1-2 weeks), a cost that the family will cover.
