We are a British family travelling from London to our second home in Bergerac, Dordogne this summer and are looking for a warm, experienced bilingual French-English speaking nanny to help care for our two daughters, aged 4 years and 8 months. This is a temporary 5-week contract starting on July 1st or 2nd.
Both parents will be working from home during this time, and the children’s grandparents will also be present for at least two weeks, so we are looking for someone confident, proactive and genuinely helpful who is comfortable working alongside family members while taking initiative independently.
The role will involve childcare, helping with the children’s laundry and meal preparation, and most importantly creating engaging French-speaking activities for our eldest through story books, songs, games and everyday conversation to help develop her language skills naturally and playfully.
We would love to find someone energetic, safety conscious and reliable who won’t need constant supervision and who enjoys spending time outdoors, as the house has a swimming pool so being a strong swimmer is essential.
The schedule will typically be Monday to Friday from 8am to 1pm and 3pm to 7pm, with additional hours available at weekends if desired.
Comfortable live-in accommodation within the home can be provided for the duration of the stay, and there is also private parking available for candidates who prefer to commute by car.
Salary starts from €20 gross per hour depending on experience.
