A lovely family based in Belgravia, London is looking for an experienced French-speaking Governess to support and mentor their bright 9-year-old daughter. This is a long-term position for someone who is passionate about education and child development, with the ability to make learning engaging and enjoyable.
The role includes daily school pick-ups, overseeing after-school routines, managing the child’s calendar, and planning creative, educational, and age-appropriate activities that encourage curiosity and confidence. A key focus of the role is to naturally immerse the child in the French language through conversation, games, reading, and interactive learning while promoting good manners, independence, and positive daily habits.
Requirements:
Native or fluent French speaker.
Proven experience working as a Governess, Tutor, or in a similar private household role.
Confident supporting the education and development of a 9-year-old child.
Able to create fun, engaging, and educational activities in French.
Must already be based in London (no accommodation is provided).
Full, clean driving licence and confident driver.
Available to start in August.
Willing to travel occasionally with the family.
The schedule is 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on weekdays and 9:00 am to 7:00 pm at weekends, with two days off each week. Occasional travel with the family will be required.
Salary up to £65,000 per year for the right candidate.
