An American family based in Abu Dhabi, UAE is seeking an experienced Nanny/Governess to support their two boys, aged 4 and 5, who attend a British school. This is a structured, education-focused role suited to a confident and autonomous professional with a Degree or formal training in Early Childhood Education, Education, Child Development, Child Psychology, Teaching, or a related field, or prior experience as a classroom teacher. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of early childhood development and be confident teaching reading, writing, and foundational mathematics in alignment with the British curriculum.
Key responsibilities include supporting academic development in early literacy, numeracy, and general knowledge, creating structured after-school routines and engaging educational activities, and liaising closely with the school to monitor progress and address any needs. The Nanny/Governess will prepare the children for the school day, manage after-school schedules, and foster independence, emotional regulation, and good manners. The role requires collaboration with parents to ensure consistency in expectations and learning outcomes, while also being confident taking initiative.
This is a live-in position with private accommodation provided. The family travels internationally, and the nanny will be expected to travel with them, maintaining structure and routine while abroad. Summers are spent in the United States, therefore a US passport holder is essential. The schedule is 5 days per week, with hours agreed based on after-school and educational support needs, and flexibility required for travel. The family is offering a competitive salary starting from $90,000 tax-free.
