Full-Time French-Speaking Nanny (Newborn Care) – Russian Hill, San Francisco
A professional family based in Russian Hill, San Francisco is seeking an experienced, nurturing, and highly attentive French-speaking nanny to care for their newborn. This is a wonderful long-term opportunity for a candidate who has a deep understanding of newborn development, infant milestones, and age-appropriate care and who genuinely enjoys providing loving, hands-on care.
The ideal candidate will be highly attuned to the baby’s individual needs and developmental progress, proactive in supporting healthy routines, and comfortable working collaboratively with parents. International travel may be required, so the family is seeking someone who loves to travel and is comfortable accompanying the family on domestic and international trips.
Key Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive, attentive, and nurturing care for one newborn
Support the baby’s physical, emotional, and developmental needs
Demonstrate a strong understanding of newborn development and developmental milestones
Observe and communicate changes in the baby’s development, sleep, feeding, mood, and overall well-being
Provide feeding support and help establish appropriate feeding patterns and routines
Diapering, bathing, dressing, nail trimming, and maintaining excellent baby hygiene
Soothe and comfort the baby and support healthy sleep habits and routines
Engage the baby in age-appropriate activities that encourage early development and learning
Establish and maintain consistent daily routines while remaining responsive to the baby’s changing needs
Prepare, clean, and sterilize bottles and other feeding items
Complete baby-related laundry and keep clothing, linens, and nursery items organized
Maintain a clean, tidy, and organized nursery and baby areas
Travel with the family on international and domestic trips as needed
Communicate openly and regularly with parents regarding the baby’s needs, routines, development, and progress
Maintain a calm, professional, discreet, and supportive presence within the family home
Qualifications
Proven professional experience caring for newborns and infants
Strong knowledge of newborn care, infant development, and developmental milestones
Fluent French-speaking skills
Warm, nurturing, patient, and genuinely passionate about newborn care
Highly attentive and able to recognize and respond to subtle changes in a newborn’s needs
Experience supporting feeding and sleep routines
Comfortable with all aspects of newborn hygiene and daily care
Organized, proactive, reliable, and detail-oriented
Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach with parents
Comfortable with international travel and accompanying a family while traveling
Must be local to San Francisco
Must be legally eligible to work in the United States
CPR and First Aid certification preferred
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–4:00 PM (45 hours per week)
Compensation: $45 per hour
