A UHNW family in Palm Beach is looking for an experienced Governess to support the development of their two young children (ages 2 and 4). This is a full-time, live-out position for a local candidate who genuinely enjoys working with early learners and understands how to balance structure with creativity. The family already employs a full-time nanny, so this role is focused less on basic childcare and more on guiding the children’s early education, social development, and overall growth. A background in early childhood education is essential, along with prior experience working in UHNW households where discretion and professionalism come naturally.
The right person will be proactive, engaging, and excited to travel with the family both within the U.S. and internationally. You’ll play a key role in preparing the children for school in a way that feels natural and fun, helping them build confidence, curiosity, and strong foundational skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Support early childhood development with a focus on school readiness (language, numeracy, social skills)
Plan and lead age-appropriate educational activities and structured play
Encourage positive behavior, independence, and emotional development
Collaborate with the nanny and parents to ensure consistency in routines and expectations
Organize enriching outings, classes, and experiences
Travel with the family domestically and internationally as needed
Maintain a high level of discretion and professionalism within a private household
The schedule is Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week, offering a consistent routine while still requiring flexibility when needed.
Salary is highly competitive and dependent on experience.
