We are looking for a live-in nanny in Northampton to support a friendly family with two children aged 5 and 7. This is a varied and rewarding role that includes both shared and sole charge, so we’re looking for someone confident working independently but also happy to be part of a team with mum. Because of the location and school runs, a driver is essential for this position.
The ideal nanny will be warm, organised, and genuinely enjoy spending time with school-aged children, someone who can bring energy to after-school time while also keeping routines steady and calm. You’ll play a big part in the children’s day-to-day development, from supporting school life to planning fun activities and keeping them active and engaged.
Responsibilities include:
Shared and sole charge care of two children (ages 5 and 7)
Assisting mum with the morning routine
School runs and transporting children safely to and from activities (driver required)
Supporting children’s learning and development, including monitoring milestones
Planning and leading fun, age-appropriate activities such as arts and crafts
Keeping children active through outdoor play and structured activities
Managing children’s laundry and keeping their belongings organised
Occasional travel with the family
Proxy parenting when required
Private self-contained flat is provided. Working hours are Monday to Friday, 1pm–8pm during term time, and Monday to Friday, 8am–7pm during school holidays. The salary is £40,000–£45,000 GPA
