An adventurous family is seeking an exceptional Traveling Nanny & Educator to join them on a one-year journey around the world, beginning in Manhattan Beach, California on August 1, 2026. This is a truly unique opportunity for a qualified educator who loves travel just as much as teaching. You’ll support three bright girls (preschool, kindergarten, and 4th grade) serving as both their teacher and nanny while helping them explore new cultures, environments, and experiences through meaningful, hands-on learning.
The family is looking for someone who can seamlessly blend education with everyday life. You’ll create individualized learning plans, adapt lessons to each destination, and help maintain consistency and structure while traveling. Just as importantly, you’ll be a calm, dependable presence in the girls’ daily routines, encouraging confidence, curiosity, kindness, and independence. This role is ideal for an educator who believes that some of the best classrooms don’t have four walls.
Responsibilities:
As Educator
Provide individualized instruction across core academic subjects tailored to each child’s learning style
Design and adapt curriculum to support a flexible, travel-based lifestyle
Support a highly gifted child using positive reinforcement, consistent expectations, and clear boundaries
Implement and maintain behavior support plans with warmth and consistency
Utilize evidence-based strategies to meet diverse learning needs
Track academic progress and provide regular updates to the family
Transform travel destinations into engaging educational experiences through museums, cultural sites, nature, and local activities
Foster curiosity, creativity, critical thinking, and a lifelong love of learning
As Nanny
Support morning routines and bedtime routines
Plan educational outings, field trips, and enriching daily adventures
Help manage daily schedules, meals, and routines while traveling
Provide attentive, nurturing care throughout the day
Handle light child-related housekeeping, including children’s laundry and keeping study and play areas organized
Encourage independence, positive behavior, and respectful communication
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Special Education, Education, or a related field
Valid General Education Teaching Credential or equivalent teaching qualification
Experience teaching children across multiple elementary age groups
Strong understanding of differentiated instruction and diverse learning needs
Current CPR and First Aid certification
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
Valid passport and enthusiasm for extensive international travel
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
Organized, flexible, and comfortable adapting to changing environments
Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach
