A family based in Clerkenwell, London is seeking an experienced nanny to provide sole-charge care for their newborn baby. They are looking for a professional nanny with strong baby experience who is passionate about supporting children through the earliest stages of development. Childcare qualifications are preferred, and the family is looking for someone confident in establishing routines, promoting healthy development, and providing attentive, nurturing care.
The nanny will play a key role in supporting developmental milestones throughout infancy, including weaning, sensory exploration, and early learning through play. Responsibilities will include planning engaging, age-appropriate activities both at home and out in the community, as well as accompanying the baby to local classes, groups, and outings that encourage social and developmental growth. The ideal candidate will be proactive, knowledgeable, and genuinely enjoy creating enriching experiences tailored to the child’s changing needs.
In addition to childcare, nursery duties related to the baby will be required, including preparing nutritious meals as weaning progresses, managing the baby’s laundry, and keeping nursery areas, toys, and baby-related spaces clean, organised, and well maintained. This position offers 42 hours per week spread across four days and a competitive salary of £55,000 per year.
Requirements:
Extensive experience caring for newborns and young infants
Childcare qualifications preferred (Norland, NNEB, CACHE, or equivalent)
Strong understanding of infant development and developmental milestones
Experience supporting weaning and establishing healthy routines
Confident planning age-appropriate activities and outings
Comfortable attending local baby classes and community groups
Willingness to undertake all nursery duties related to the child
Organised, proactive, and attentive to detail
Professional, reliable, and capable of working independently in a sole-charge role
Excellent references and long-term commitment preferred
