First-time parents in Brooklyn Heights, New York are seeking an experienced, full-time live-out nanny to join their family beginning in mid-July. This is a wonderful opportunity for a professional nanny who is passionate about infant care and child development, and who can provide knowledgeable support while respecting the parents’ wishes and parenting style. The family is looking for someone safety-focused, nurturing, and confident caring for a child from infancy through the toddler years.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of developmental milestones and age-appropriate activities, along with the ability to create a structured, engaging, and loving environment. Responsibilities will include all aspects of baby-related care, supporting developmental progress, preparing healthy meals for the child as they grow, managing baby laundry, and maintaining tidy, organised nursery and play spaces. The family values a nanny who can offer guidance and expertise when needed without being overly directive, creating a collaborative and trusting relationship with first-time parents.
This position is Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 6:30 PM and offers $35–$40 per hour, depending on experience. Additional benefits include a health stipend and 2–3 weeks of paid time off.
Applicants must already be based in the New York area, as relocation assistance is not available for this role.
Requirements:
Extensive experience caring for infants and supporting children through the toddler years
Strong knowledge of child development and developmental milestones
Safety-focused approach with excellent judgement and decision-making skills
Ability to support first-time parents in a collaborative and respectful manner
Experience preparing healthy meals for children
Willingness to manage baby laundry, organisation, and nursery-related duties
Warm, nurturing, professional, and reliable personality
Proven longevity in previous nanny positions
Excellent recent references
Must already be local to New York and able to commute to Brooklyn Heights
