A private family based in Paris’s prestigious 7th arrondissement is seeking an experienced live-in nanny to care for their two young children: a 3-year-old who will be starting school in September and a 9-month-old baby. The family would ideally like to find a native English speaker with fluent French, although they are also open to considering a native French speaker with excellent English. This is a long-term role for someone who enjoys building genuine relationships with children and creating a happy, stimulating environment where they can thrive.
The position offers a wonderful balance of independence and support. Mum works from home one to three days per week, and the family employs a housekeeper three times per week, allowing the nanny to focus primarily on childcare and child-related responsibilities. The family values a nanny who is proactive, nurturing, and confident managing the different developmental needs of both a baby and a preschool-aged child. A separate fully furnished studio apartment in the same building is provided for the nanny, offering privacy and comfort while remaining close to the family.
Responsibilities:
Providing attentive daily care for both children
Managing school drop-offs and pick-ups for the older child once school begins
Planning engaging, age-appropriate activities that support learning and development
Taking the baby to baby classes, outings, and local activities
Spending time outdoors with both children, including park visits after school
Supporting developmental milestones for both the baby and toddler
Preparing healthy meals and snacks for the children
Assisting with children’s laundry and wardrobe organisation
Keeping children’s bedrooms, nursery spaces, and play areas tidy and organised
Maintaining routines and ensuring smooth transitions throughout the day
Working collaboratively with parents and providing updates on the children’s progress and activities
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:30am–6:30pm
Accommodation: Separate fully furnished studio apartment in the same building
Salary: €15 net per hour, fully declared
Start Date: Mid-August
Eligibility: Applicants must have the legal right to work in France
An added benefit of this position is that the family travels extensively during most school holidays and does not require the nanny to accompany them. During these periods, the nanny will receive paid time off.
