A private family in Abuja, Nigeria is looking for an experienced French-speaking Governess to support their 10-year-old twins. The role will focus on the children’s daily routines, activities and personal development, alongside encouraging their French language skills. The twins already have their own tutors after school, so the Governess will not be responsible for formal academic tutoring. Instead, the focus will be on providing thoughtful guidance, keeping the children engaged and supporting their development outside their lessons.
The household is fully staffed, allowing the Governess to concentrate entirely on the children. The family is looking for someone warm, organised and confident who can take an active role in their daily lives. International travel is required, so the successful candidate must be comfortable travelling regularly and adapting to different environments.
Requirements
Fluent French speaker
Previous professional experience as a Governess, Nanny or childcare professional
Strong understanding of child development and age-appropriate activities
Confident supporting children’s routines and personal development
Genuine interest in encouraging French language skills
Warm, engaging and positive approach to childcare
Highly organised and able to take initiative
Comfortable working as part of a fully staffed household
Flexible and happy to travel internationally
Professional, discreet and reliable
Eligible to accept visa sponsorship for Nigeria
This is a live-in position offering approximately 40 hours per week across six days. Visa sponsorship will be provided for the successful candidate. The salary is up to £1,500 per week, depending on experience.
