A family based on exclusive Fisher Island, Miami is seeking an experienced Russian-Speaking Governess to support the education and development of their two children, aged 6 and 9. This role goes well beyond homework support. You’ll help guide the children’s educational journey by introducing enriching experiences that extend beyond the classroom, whether through literature, the arts, language, or cultural exploration. The family values a thoughtful, proactive professional who can build positive relationships with the children while working closely with the parents to support their academic progress and personal development.
Responsibilities:
Manage the morning routine, preparing the children for school and driving them to school
Collect the children after school and oversee the afternoon schedule
Provide homework guidance and academic support across core subjects
Plan and deliver enriching educational activities beyond the school curriculum
Encourage reading, language development, creative thinking, and cultural awareness
Coordinate and accompany the children to extracurricular activities, lessons, and appointments
Foster confidence, independence, good manners, and positive study habits
Maintain open communication with parents regarding academic progress and developmental goals
Support the children’s Russian language development through daily interaction
Requirements:
Native or fluent Russian speaker with excellent English
Teaching degree or a degree in Education or a related field
Previous experience as a Governess, Teacher, or Private Educator
Strong understanding of child development and primary education
Warm, engaging, and naturally encouraging approach
Excellent organisational and communication skills
Must live within a reasonable commuting distance of Fisher Island, Miami
Legal authorization to work in the United States
Position Details:
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 40 hours per week
Salary: $110,000–$140,000 per year, depending on experience
