A family based in Hamburg is seeking an experienced and highly professional Maternity Nurse to support them during the arrival of their newborn. This is a two-month contract running throughout January and February 2027 and would suit a confident candidate with extensive newborn experience and a calm, supportive approach. The family is looking for someone who can provide expert guidance during the early weeks, help establish healthy feeding and sleeping routines, and offer reassurance to growing parents as they adjust to life with a new baby. The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable, discreet, and able to work collaboratively within the family home while respecting the parents’ wishes and parenting style. Responsibilities will include all aspects of newborn care, monitoring the baby’s wellbeing, advising on feeding, supporting routine establishment, and sharing practical guidance that helps build parental confidence. Strong communication skills are essential, as the family values a maternity nurse who can educate and support without being overly directive. Flexibility, professionalism, and a positive attitude are highly important. The schedule will be either 24 hours a day, 5 days per week, or 24 hours a day, 6 days per week, depending on the candidate’s availability and the family’s final requirements. Applicants must hold a valid EU passport. A German speaker would be highly preferred.
