A warm and welcoming family based in Jersey, Channel Islands is seeking a highly qualified live-in governess to join their household. The family already has a dedicated nanny and housekeeper, and they are looking for someone who can focus on the educational development of their 2.5-year-old son.
The little boy is extremely well-behaved, bright, and enjoys play that stimulates his intellect. With no allergies or special needs, he is ready for someone who can prepare him for his future schooling, guiding him through pre-school activities and helping him develop the foundational skills necessary for when he begins formal education in London.
The role is set to evolve as the family grows, with the mother expecting a baby girl in December. Therefore, the governess should be comfortable adapting to new responsibilities as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide a stimulating and nurturing educational environment for the little boy, encouraging his development through creative, engaging, and age-appropriate activities.
Prepare the child for future schooling, focusing on pre-school education and classroom readiness.
Assist with educational tasks, including reading, early literacy, numeracy, and problem-solving skills.
Travel with the family when necessary, especially during visits to London and New York.
Be adaptable to future changes as the family welcomes a new baby in December.
Requirements:
Native English speaker, with a strong educational background and experience in early childhood education.
Enthusiastic, nurturing, and patient with young children.
Flexible and happy to travel internationally as needed.
Prior experience in a similar role is preferred.
Working Hours & Conditions:
The family is flexible with working hours for the right candidate (Could be part-time or full-time), but they seek someone who can also be flexible and adjust to the family’s schedule as needed.
Salary up to £25 gross per hour DOE
