SEN / Special Needs Nanny in Greenwich Connecticut

Family in Greenwich, CT is seeking a highly dedicated live-out Special Education Nanny. Nanny will provide one-on-one care for their 8 year old son who was recently diagnosed with a combination of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD). Must hold a Special Education Teacher Certification (or certifiability) and have experience working with children with ADHD, ODD or emotional/behavioral differences. Responsibilities include engaging the child in educational, creative and outdoor activities, implementing behavioral management tools and de-escalation techniques, and supporting daily routines such as transitions, getting ready for the day and bedtime. Will also be responsible for school pickups, driving to activities and preparing snacks/meals. A car will be provided for work purposes. Candidate will work closely with the stay-at-home mother, maintaining consistent communication and collaboratively navigating daily routines and behavioral strategies. Ideal candidate is patient, detail oriented, nurturing, positive, organized, kind, adaptable to last-minute changes, and is a team player. It is a plus if the candidate holds a CPR and First Aid certification, but not a requirement. Must have excellent references, ability to swim and be available for domestic and international travel. The family has one dog, so light pet care may be needed. Monday-Thursday, 2pm-9m and Friday, 10:30am-9pm, but must be flexible with schedule. $DOE, health insurance stipend, PTO and an annual bonus.
