A private family in Miami Beach, Florida is seeking an experienced Russian-Speaking Governess to provide educational support for their two school-aged children, aged 9 and 6. This is an academically focused role for a Governess, Teacher, or Tutor who genuinely enjoys working with children and takes pride in helping them build strong academic foundations, confidence, and independence. The family is looking for someone who can bring structure to the children’s learning while keeping education engaging and enjoyable.
A particular focus of the position will be developing the children’s Russian language skills through a structured, age-appropriate program, alongside homework support and broader educational enrichment. The ideal candidate will be warm and engaging but also confident taking the lead with learning, routines, and educational planning. The role is live-out, with no accommodation provided, and the family may require travel support during trips.
Responsibilities:
Provide academic tutoring and homework support for both children
Develop and deliver a structured Russian language program tailored to each child’s age and ability
Plan engaging educational activities and enrichment opportunities
Support the children’s academic progress and encourage a positive attitude toward learning
Foster confidence, independence, good habits, and positive daily routines
Encourage reading, critical thinking, creativity, and intellectual curiosity
Coordinate educational activities, outings, and extracurricular commitments
Communicate with parents regarding academic progress and developmental goals
Travel with the family when required and provide continuity of educational support
Requirements:
Native Russian speaker with strong English communication skills
Previous experience as a Governess, Teacher, Tutor, or Private Educator
Proven experience working with school-aged children
Strong educational background and understanding of child development
Confident developing and delivering structured educational programs
Warm, professional, organized, and proactive approach
Excellent professional references
Must have the legal right to work in the United States
