A family in Pound Ridge, NY is seeking a caring and experienced German-speaking Nanny to care for their two children, ages 2 and 6. The primary focus of the role will be caring for the family’s 2-year-old during the day, while also assisting with school drop-offs, pick-ups, and after-school care for the older sibling. This is an excellent opportunity for a nanny who enjoys supporting early childhood development while naturally incorporating the German language into everyday routines and play. A native German speaker is preferred, although candidates with strong conversational German are also encouraged to apply.
The ideal candidate will create a nurturing, engaging environment where the youngest child can thrive through age-appropriate activities, play-based learning, and support for key developmental milestones. Responsibilities include planning stimulating activities, preparing the children for their daily routines, transporting them to and from school as needed, and managing all child-related household tasks, including organizing children’s spaces, tidying play areas, and keeping children’s belongings in order.
Requirements:
Native German speaker preferred; strong conversational German will also be considered
Previous professional nanny or childcare experience with toddlers and young children
Experience supporting early childhood development and developmental milestones
Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record
Warm, patient, reliable, and proactive
Excellent communication skills and professional references
Legally authorized to work in the United States
This is a part-time position working 3 days per week with 30–36 guaranteed hours.
Compensation is $33–$35 per hour, depending on experience.
