A private family in McLean, Virginia is looking for an experienced ROTA Nanny / Family Assistant to help care for their two children, ages 8 and 6, while supporting the day-to-day flow of their fully staffed household. This is a 7 days on, 7 days off position that would suit a polished, professional candidate who enjoys balancing hands-on childcare with family assistant responsibilities. The family is looking for someone who is organised, proactive, and confident managing busy schedules while creating a calm, structured environment where the children can thrive.
The children are active, curious, and involved in a variety of activities, so the ideal candidate will enjoy keeping everyone on track, supporting homework and educational development, and making afternoons run smoothly. As part of a collaborative household team, you’ll work closely with parents and staff while maintaining high standards of organisation and communication. The role also includes domestic and international travel, so candidates must be passport-ready and flexible enough to travel when needed.
Responsibilities:
Manage school pick-ups and provide engaging after-school care.
Coordinate the children’s schedules, activities, and appointments.
Support homework, school projects, and educational development.
Prepare healthy meals and snacks for the children.
Complete the children’s laundry and keep their bedrooms, wardrobes, and play areas organised.
Assist with family assistant duties related to the children’s needs and the smooth operation of the household.
Help maintain consistent routines, structure, and household standards.
Travel with the family on domestic and international trips as required.
Work collaboratively with parents and the household team to ensure seamless day-to-day care.
Schedule: 7 days on / 7 days off
Compensation: $100,000 per year, plus a comprehensive benefits package.
Please note: Candidates must already live in the Washington, DC, Maryland, or Northern Virginia area. The family is not offering relocation, and only local DMV candidates will be considered. Applicants must also be passport-ready and available for both domestic and international travel.
