A family based in Chicago, Illinois is looking for an experienced ROTA nanny to help care for their bright and active 3-year-old child. This is a 1 week on/1 week off position, working alongside a stay-at-home mom in a collaborative and supportive environment. The family is looking for someone who brings a calm, confident approach to toddler care and has a strong understanding of child development, age-appropriate learning, positive discipline, and gentle redirection. They value professionalism, discretion, and someone who can seamlessly become part of the household while respecting the family’s privacy.
This role is ideal for a career nanny who enjoys the toddler years and understands how to balance structure with fun. The successful candidate will create engaging educational activities, encourage independence, and help guide the child’s social and emotional development through everyday interactions. Occasional travel with the family is required. The position is live-in while on duty, with private accommodations provided, and the family is happy to consider fly-in/fly-out candidates who are already authorized to work in the United States.
Responsibilities:
Provide attentive, hands-on care for a 3-year-old child.
Plan engaging, age-appropriate educational activities and play experiences.
Encourage positive behaviour using thoughtful discipline and gentle redirection.
Support the child’s emotional, social, and developmental growth.
Maintain consistent daily routines, including meals, naps, outings, and activities.
Work closely with the stay-at-home mom to ensure continuity of care.
Keep the child’s bedrooms, play areas, and belongings tidy and organised.
Travel with the family on occasion as required.
Maintain the highest level of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality at all times.
Schedule: 1 week on / 1 week off (ROTA), live-in while on duty.
Salary: $110,000 per year.
