A family in Charlottesville, Virginia is looking for a full-time nanny to help care for their 3-year-old and baby. The baby’s care will be the primary focus during the day while the older child is at preschool, with both children together in the afternoons, during school breaks, and on holidays. Mom is home full-time, so this opportunity is ideal for a nanny who enjoys working in partnership with parents, communicates openly, and is happy to tag-team throughout the day. The family is looking for someone who is nurturing, proactive, and genuinely enjoys creating fun, engaging experiences that help young children learn and grow.
This is a child-focused role within a well-supported household. A dedicated housekeeper takes care of the deep cleaning, so the nanny’s household responsibilities are limited to tasks related to the children and keeping their spaces organised. The family would love to find someone who can bring fresh ideas for play and learning, help maintain consistent routines, and become a trusted part of their children’s daily lives. Flexibility for occasional travel and evening or weekend babysitting is appreciated.
Responsibilities:
Provide attentive, hands-on care for the baby as the primary daytime responsibility.
Care for both children when the 3-year-old is home from preschool, during school holidays, and on breaks.
Plan engaging, age-appropriate activities that encourage learning, creativity, and development.
Support daily routines, including meals, naps, playtime, and transitions, in collaboration with the parents.
Complete the children’s laundry and change children’s bedding as needed.
Keep the children’s bedrooms, play areas, and shared family spaces tidy and well organised.
Travel with the family on occasion, primarily to Washington, DC.
Provide occasional evening or weekend babysitting (approximately once or twice per month).
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 10:00am–6:00/7:00pm
Compensation: $30–$35 per hour, depending on experience.
