A family based in the beautiful Tuscan countryside is seeking an experienced German-speaking ROTA Nanny / Governess to support the care, education, and development of their 5-year-old child. Working within a fully staffed private household, you’ll focus on creating a consistent, enriching environment while collaborating with the family’s wider team. This is a long-term rotational position, ideal for someone who values professionalism, discretion, and high standards of childcare. Live-in accommodation is provided during working rotations, and the family is looking for a candidate who can become a trusted and lasting part of their child’s educational journey.
Responsibilities:
Provide attentive care and educational support for a 5-year-old child
Maintain structured daily routines that encourage security and independence
Support developmental and age-appropriate academic milestones
Promote German language development through daily conversation, reading, games, and educational activities
Plan engaging, play-based learning experiences that encourage creativity and critical thinking
Foster positive behaviour, confidence, good manners, and emotional development
Organise enriching indoor and outdoor activities tailored to the child’s interests and stage of development
Communicate regularly with parents regarding progress, routines, and developmental goals
Work collaboratively with the household’s staff to ensure consistency and continuity of care
Maintain the highest standards of discretion and professionalism at all times
Requirements:
Native German speaker
Strong pedagogical qualifications, preferably in Early Years Education, Primary Education, or a related field
Excellent understanding of child development and early learning
Previous experience working in private households or fully staffed residences
Professional, organised, warm, and highly discreet
EU passport holder (essential)
Excellent references from previous employers
Schedule: 2 Weeks On / 2 Weeks Off (ROTA)
