A private family in Ashburn, Virginia is seeking an experienced, developmentally-focused nanny to care for their two young children, ages 3 years and 9 months. This position is ideal for a professional nanny who is passionate about early childhood development and enjoys creating meaningful, enriching experiences that support learning, growth, and independence. The family values a hands-on approach to childcare and is looking for someone who can foster a structured, nurturing, and largely screen-free environment.
The nanny’s primary responsibilities will include managing feeding and nap schedules for the infant while engaging the older child in age-appropriate activities such as reading, music, creative play, and outdoor exploration. The ideal candidate will actively support developmental milestones, encourage life skills and independence, and create opportunities for learning through everyday experiences. Additional duties include preparing healthy meals and snacks, assisting with school drop-offs and pickups, and completing child-related household tasks such as children’s laundry, bottle care, light tidying, and maintaining organized children’s spaces.
Requirements:
Previous professional nanny experience with infants and toddlers
Strong understanding of early childhood development and developmental milestones
Experience creating engaging, age-appropriate educational activities
Ability to maintain structured routines and a screen-free environment
Experience managing infant feeding and nap schedules
Comfortable preparing healthy meals and snacks for children
Reliable transportation and ability to assist with school drop-offs and pickups
Willingness to complete child-related household tasks, including children’s laundry and bottle care
Organized, proactive, and nurturing approach to childcare
CPR and First Aid certification preferred
Excellent professional references
Authorized to work in the United States
Schedule & Compensation:
Monday–Friday, 9:00am–5:00pm
Full-time position
$30–$35 per hour, depending on experience
