A private family based in Kensington Gardens, London is seeking an experienced Russian-Speaking Governess to support the education and development of their bright 5-year-old daughter. This role is ideally suited to someone who is passionate about child development and enjoys helping children flourish academically while maintaining a strong connection to their language and cultural heritage. The family is looking for a professional who can nurture the child’s Russian language skills while also supporting her success within the British school system.
Working closely with the parents, you will play an important role in the child’s educational journey, helping to create a structured, engaging, and positive environment that encourages curiosity, confidence, and independence. This is a long-term position for someone who can combine the warmth of a caregiver with the skills of an educator. Responsibilities:
Support the child’s educational development and school progression
Assist with homework, reading, writing, and general learning activities
Encourage bilingual development, with a strong focus on the Russian language and culture
Organize stimulating, age-appropriate educational activities and learning experiences
Liaise with parents regarding school matters, academic progress, and developmental milestones
Create and maintain a structured, nurturing, and positive daily routine
Accompany the child to extracurricular activities, cultural outings, and appointments
Travel with the family during school holidays when required
Encourage good manners, independence, confidence, and social development
Foster a love of learning through engaging and creative educational support
Requirements:
Native Russian speaker with excellent English language skills
Previous experience as a Governess, Tutor, Teacher, or in a similar educational childcare role
Strong understanding of child development and early years education
Experience supporting children within the British school system
Teaching qualifications or an educational background highly desirable
Experience working within private households or international families is advantageous
Professional, proactive, and able to build a strong relationship with both child and parents
Full UK working rights required

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week
Salary: Up to £60,000 per year, depending on experience
