A professional family in the Dupont Circle neighborhood of Washington, DC is seeking an experienced, nurturing nanny to provide attentive care for their newborn. This is an excellent opportunity for a career nanny with a strong understanding of infant development and a genuine passion for supporting children during their earliest stages of growth. Candidates with a background in Early Childhood Education, Child Psychology, or a related field are highly encouraged to apply.
The ideal nanny will create a stimulating and loving environment through age-appropriate developmental activities, reading, singing, and engaging in meaningful interaction throughout the day. Responsibilities include maintaining the child’s daily routine and nap schedule, preparing bottles and simple meals as the child grows, taking walks and spending time outdoors, and supporting developmental milestones. The family is looking for a proactive professional who takes pride in maintaining child-related spaces, including cleaning bottles and feeding supplies, washing child-related dishes, and keeping play areas tidy and organized. The schedule is Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
Requirements:
Previous professional experience caring for newborns and infants
Background in Early Childhood Education, Child Psychology, Child Development, or a related field preferred
Strong knowledge of infant developmental milestones and age-appropriate activities
Ability to create engaging, educational, and nurturing experiences throughout the day
Experience establishing and maintaining infant routines and nap schedules
Comfortable preparing bottles and simple child-related meals
Willingness to take the child on walks and participate in outdoor activities
Detail-oriented with a commitment to maintaining clean and organized child-related spaces
Excellent communication skills and professional references
Authorized to work in the United States
Schedule & Compensation:
Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM
$32–$35 per hour, depending on experience
Full-time, live-out position
