Private Educator – Honolulu, Oʻahu
A dynamic family in Honolulu, Oʻahu is seeking an innovative and experienced Private Educator to work with their 7-year-old child. This unique role centers on experiential, curiosity-driven education, incorporating daily field trips, cultural immersion, and hands-on learning. The ideal candidate is adventurous, creative, and passionate about bringing education to life beyond the classroom.
Key Responsibilities
Design and deliver engaging, screen-free learning experiences through outings and real-world exploration
Teach core academic subjects (literacy, math, science, and social studies) in an integrated, hands-on format
Incorporate language learning into daily activities and lessons
Facilitate educational field trips across Honolulu and Oʻahu, including nature, museums, and cultural sites
Introduce and explore Hawaiian history, global cultures, and diverse spiritual perspectives
Foster curiosity, creativity, independence, and critical thinking skills
Create a flexible yet structured weekly learning plan aligned with the child’s interests and developmental needs
Requirements
Proven teaching or private educator experience (elementary level preferred)
Passion for experiential and adventure-based education
Strong ability to design engaging, customized curriculum
Valid driver’s license and reliable personal vehicle (required for daily outings)
Excellent organizational and communication skills
Energetic, adaptable, and resourceful personality
Preferred Qualifications
Background in progressive education, homeschooling, or alternative learning models
Fluency or proficiency in a second language
Familiarity with Hawaiian culture and local geography
CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:30 AM – 2:30 PM (Approx. 28 hours/week, including planning time)
Start Date: Summer 2026
Compensation: $45–$50 per hour (DOE)
