Family in Cooper City, FL is seeking immediate support from a skilled postpartum doula or newborn care specialist to assist with the care of a 7-month-old baby boy. The mother is experiencing postpartum depression and is looking for someone trustworthy, compassionate, and reliable to provide consistent daytime support as she regulates and heals.
Responsibilities:
Provide attentive care for a happy, easygoing 7-month-old baby boy
Support the mother with childcare and establish a sense of trust and companionship
Understand and provide appropriate support for a mother experiencing postpartum depression
Assist with feeding routines (mother is breastfeeding)
Offer guidance, reassurance, and a calm presence to both mother and baby
Communicate openly and compassionately with the mother about daily routines and needs
Light household assistance related to the baby (bottles, tidying, laundry as needed)
Qualifications:
Prior experience as a postpartum doula, newborn care specialist, or nanny with proven experience supporting mothers through postpartum depression
Warm, trustworthy, and empathetic demeanor with excellent communication skills
Knowledge of infant care, feeding, and sleep routines
Ability to provide both practical support and emotional reassurance
Flexible and able to start as soon as possible
This role is intended for 2–3 weeks, with the possibility of extension depending on the mother’s needs. Schedule is Monday–Friday, 5 hours per day and pay is $35–$50/hour DOE.
