About the job

A warm and loving family is seeking a temporary full-time summer nanny or NCS for their two children, ages 7-years-old and 3-months-old. They will be in the town of Sagaponack between June 25th and September 3rd. The schedule required is Saturday afternoons through Thursday afternoons, with 48 hours of rest each week available. The position will be paid at a daily rate to cover all hours of the day despite there being periods of down time throughout the day. The role will be best for a candidate with a combination of nannying and live-in newborn care specialist experience. The older child is in camp every weekday from 9am to 4pm, so primary care will be for the infant. Both parents work but mom has some flexibility with her schedule to help with late afternoons.

Responsibilities will include all care for the baby; keeping him on his established nap and feeding schedule, engaging him in developmentally appropriate play, encouraging his progress toward milestones, and taking him out for walks or swims. They hope to find a nanny who will speak to the baby throughout the day and expose him to learning opportunities. Duties will also include some care for their older child in the afternoons in coordination with mom. He gets picked up daily from the bus stop on their street at 4pm and usually has quiet afternoons followed by dinner and early bedtime. The baby naps a few times per day, eats consistently on a predictable schedule, and currently sleeps for 8-9 hours in his longest stretch. The nanny will keep the baby monitor in their room, which is next to the baby's.

The ideal candidate has strong infant experience and is proactive with a pitch-in attitude. A driver's license is a huge plus. A COVID vaccine and comfort with a dog are must-haves. There is a private bedroom and en-suite bathroom provided for the nanny. If you're interested and legal to work in the US, apply to EB261.
