A very nice, professional and down-to-Earth couple is looking for a full-time, live-out nanny in the Rye area of Westchester, NY. The role starts beginning of September. The family includes the mother, father, 3-year-old boy, and 5-month-old baby girl.
The nanny must have several years of experience caring for infant through elementary age children in a private residence. You must also have experience caring for at least two children in a private residence. The nanny will act as the right hand person to the mother, tag-teaming household and childcare responsibilities. This person will prioritize the children’s emotional and physical well-being, whilst teaching good behavior.
Responsibilities include assisting with getting both children ready each morning, organizing play-dates and outings (e.g swimming, playground, classes, back-yard activities, art and crafts, etc.), preparing healthy varied lunches and occasional dinners for children, manage nap and feeding schedules for baby, playing and reading with children, developing a strong relationship of love and trust, occasionally doing school drop-offs and pick-ups, keeping play areas tidy and toys organized, doing the children’s laundry, changing bedsheets weekly, cleaning up messes after meals, stacking dishwasher, wiping down kitchen surfaces, sweeping up crumbs, changing diaper pail bags frequently, and keeping children’s bedrooms organized.
The ideal candidate should be educated through college level and be a fluent English speaker (the ability to speak Spanish or French speaker is a plus). The nanny should be patient and caring, understand the impact our words can have on children, anticipate family needs and takes initiative to find ways to help, and should be energetic, punctual, and reliable.
Hours will ideally be Monday through Friday, 9am-5pm. They do ask for flexibility on being able to start earlier and stay later, if needed but not much overtime is expected for this role- if asked to stay extended hours one day, they may adjust by shortening another day or two during the week. They also ask for flexibility if needed on a weekend. The family is offering medical, PTO, paid federal holidays (if working a federal holiday will either be paid time and a half or be given a floating day off), and a performance-based yearly bonus.
The nanny must have their valid drivers' license and must have their own car. Bonus if you know how to swim. You must have a valid U.S. Passport and be willing to travel domestically and internationally. The nanny must have/should be open to getting their TDAP and Flu vaccines.
