About the job

A lovely family is expecting their second child in mid-August 2022 and is in need of an experienced overnight newborn nanny or newborn care specialist for the first 3 to 4 months. The family lives in the Belle Meade neighborhood of Nashville.

SCHEDULE
Days: The family would like to schedule 3-5 nights per week, and the days of the week are flexible.
Hours: Shifts will ideally be 8 – 10 hours per night, which is also flexible.
Duration: start date in mid-August when baby arrives and will last 3-4 months (negotiable)

THE DETAILS

This sweet family is growing by one! They have had a beloved SSN nanny for the past year and have been building a village of trusted caregivers who have helped from birth and beyond. They will have a doula who is helping mom through the labor and delivery process, but will need support with overnight a few times a week once they bring baby home.

This family is seeking an experienced caregiver who has assisted families with overnight newborn care in the past. They will also have a 20 month old when the position begins, but no care for the second child is asked. Overnight care will consist of feedings, changing, getting the baby back to sleep and monitoring the baby throughout the night. At the appropriate time the parents are hoping to get the baby on a routine or schedule to eliminate nighttime wakes for feedings (if medically appropriate) around the 3-4 month mark. Knowledge of newborns, sleep safety and all AAP guidelines is required. Although it is not required, the family would prefer a candidate who hold a current NCS, doula or other equivalent certification.

REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum of 3 years working with infants ages newborn+
- Overnight care experience, minimum 2 previous families with excellent references
- Extremely supportive and encouraging during the postpartum period, being kind and gentle with mom and baby.
- Supportive of whatever feeding method the family ends up pursuing, breastfeeding or formula.
- Able to take initiative and lead with confidence
- Non-smoker
- Up to date on vaccines (covid, tdap, flu) to ensure baby is safe
- Accommodating of the family’s preferences
- Able to commit for 3-4 months for 3-5 nights per week
- Extremely reliable and timely

COMPENSATION
This position will be offering $30 - $35/hr
