CALIFORNIA (NEAR PALO ALTO): TWO x professionally-trained, Norland, Rota Nannies for a baby boy (currently 4-months) – from May/June onwards
International clients of ours based in California are seeking TWO professionally trained (preferably Norland) Rota Nannies to provide seamless 24 hr on-call care for their young baby boy, currently 4 months old.
Our clients are seeking two calm, professional candidates with a minimum of 5 years’ childcare experience and excellent checkable references to work on a 1 week on/off rota basis. They are looking for loving and caring individuals with a good sense of humour, yet with a focused and professional outlook. Strong knowledge of childhood development and developmental milestones is also hugely important to our clients. As a fully staffed household, the rota nannies will need to work in a collaborative manner and be good team players – the staff culture is one of kindness and nurture, as our clients greatly care about each and every person who works for them.
Although the role is at-will employment due to California employment law, the family are ideally seeking long-term candidates who are willing to approach the role for the 2-year time frame. As our clients reside in a beautiful, peaceful location (and yet minutes away from the Palo Alto City!) with a dog and heritage chickens, it is also important for both rota nannies to be comfortable around pets and confident drivers with clean driving records. Due to the nature of working on rotation, the candidates should be flexible/accommodating to any changes in household routines and have good time management skills, as well as an excellent command of the English language (both written and spoken).
Role responsibilities will include full standard nursery duties (although details on laundry will be figured out between the nannies and the housekeeper), toy and wardrobe management, arranging age-appropriate activities and classes (for both indoors and outside), organising playdates, continuing routine setting and carrying out light childcare-related admin/PA errands when needed. Our clients are also keen for their nannies to regularly read to their little one and encourage good learning. Travel assistance is essential to role, with some international and domestic travel required on short notice. When travelling, our client will always try to ensure where possible a connecting room and a separate bathroom when in hotel accommodation.
This is a one week on/off rota appointment with a Monday morning handover and both candidates are expected to keep a learning journal/diary and update the family through scheduled weekly meetings.
Our clients are offering a generous compensation package (including fully paid health & dental insurance and an allowance for CPD training) commensurate with a candidate’s experience and qualifications.
A super opportunity for two well-presented, discrete and professionally trained Rota Nannies!
