A family based between Manhattan and the Hamptons are seeking a full-time career nanny to care for their 2-year-old, starting in January. The schedule will be 8am-6:30pm, Monday through Friday. Monday through Wednesday will be spent in the City, and then the nanny will travel with the family to the Hamptons on Wednesday evening (or independently, if they prefer) and return to the City on Friday afternoon. Candidates will be provided a separate, contained living space in the Hamptons (with everything but a kitchen) and the family will cover the candidate’s commute to and from the Hamptons.
Responsibilities will include helping potty train the toddler, managing the toddler’s laundry, keeping his play areas and living space tidy, as well as proactively seeking out age-appropriate activities and classes (arts and crafts, music etc.), organizing playdates and projects with him, getting messy, and generally keeping him curious and engaged. It would be ideal if the candidate enjoys cooking, specifically healthy toddler-friendly food – this is very much a “foodie” family.
Candidates must be organized, neat and tidy, friendly, open, and caring, with superlative communication skills and a positive demeanor. The parents would love a seasoned, educated nanny, preferably with a background in Child Development/ECE, plenty of recent infant/toddler experience, and a solid understanding of developmental milestones. The ideal candidate will be open to working alongside the parents as a team- both mom and dad work, but want to be part of the decision-making process, while also making space for the candidate to run point in a sole charge capacity.
It would be ideal if candidates have a clean driving record, a current driving license and their own reliable vehicle, but this is not essential. Only those candidates who are fully COVID vaccinated will be considered. The family are offering $35/hr up to 40 hours, and overtime thereafter.
