Family in McLean, VA is seeking a full-time nanny for their two children, a 4-year-old daughter and a 19-month-old son. The oldest child is in school Monday–Friday from 9:00am–12:00pm, and the youngest is in school 9:15am–1:15pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Responsibilities
Childcare & Developmental Support

Provide warm, patient, and age-appropriate care for a 4-year-old and 19-month-old

Support the children’s social, emotional, and cognitive development

Engage in creative, sensory-rich, and playful activities

Maintain routines, smooth transitions, and consistent expectations

Plan outdoor time, neighborhood walks, and local adventures

Encourage independence, problem-solving, and age-appropriate responsibilities

Manage school drop-offs/pick-ups for both children
Household Support

Meal prep for the children and the family (mindful of Dad’s dairy allergy)

Tidy the kitchen, do dishes, and maintain a clean child-focused space
-
Laundry for the children

Light errands, organizing, and general home tidying

Support a smooth household flow and help maintain routines
Occasional domestic travel may be requested, as well as weekend date-night support.
Schedule is Monday–Friday, roughly 8:00am–6:00pm (40 hours per week guaranteed)
Compensation: $35–$40/hour, DOE
