Professional, organised, and resourceful nanny required for a young family with two children, a girl born July 2017 and baby boy born October 2022. This position is sole charge on occasion but often shared charge alongside the mother. The family require a nanny with a calm demeanor who has strong emotional intelligence, who can operate in the background, but who will also enthusiastically and energetically play with the children at times.

The father travels extensively as a founder of his own business and therefore not home often.

The family is based in a lovely location, close to Marylebone High St, Oxford St and Regents Park where you can find many local amenities including fashion shops, restaurants and supermarkets. There is also a weekend home in Windsor which you may need to travel to with them occasionally. The family also employ a part time chef/housekeeper and an EA.

Contract length: Offering a fixed term contract, 17th April – 11th July 2023 (13 weeks). The family will be away for two months in the summer and there is the option for the role to resume from 11th September if both parties were interested.

Salary: £20 gross per hour, £1,000 – £1,200 gross per week for 50-60 hours

General duties:

  • School drop-off and pick-ups
  • Walks with the baby whilst sleeping
  • Accompanying the family on day trips in the car when necessary
  • Meal preparation and feeding for the baby
  • Small tasks around the house but no deep cleaning or washing required
  • Preparing creative activities and arts and crafts
  • Organisation of toys, children’s bedrooms, and wardrobes
  • Reading and schoolwork and continuously helping with their development, exercise and arranging general healthy, fun excursions.

 

Candidate requirements:

  • Fluent English
  • The nanny should be kind, patient and a trusted key person within the family that the children feel comfortable and secure with at all times. Somebody who has a kind and calm demeanour and will operate discreetly in the background, who is happy to be flexible with working hours and tasks.
  • Keen interest in child development, able to support the children academically. Ideally have a childcare related qualification. Family would be very keen to interview Norland and Chiltern nannies.
  • Commitment to the family with good work ethic
  • Professionalism and understanding of family dynamic is important at all times
  • Follow instructions well
  • Resourceful, proactive and show initiative and common sense
  • UK Driver’s license
  • Up to date clear UK DBS or overseas equivalent
