Charleston, SC – Our clients are seeking a nurturing nanny to join their household and provide exceptional care for their children. The ideal candidate should seamlessly integrate into an active and engaged family environment, supporting parental involvement and contributing positively to the children’s growth and development. They should embody a caregiving style that is firm yet allows for freedom.
While this role guarantees full-time hours (40/week), typically weeks will range from 25-32 hours. Candidates who are local to Charleston or are familiar with the area and are interested in living there long-term, are preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Provide hands-on care and supervision for children, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
- Collaborate with parents to maintain their preferred caregiving styles and routines.
- Engage children in enriching activities, both indoors and outdoors, that promote learning and creativity.
- Support children’s educational development through play-based learning and activities that enhance pre-kindergarten skills.
- Assist in organizing and maintaining children’s belongings, including clothes, toys, and play spaces.
- Manage children’s schedules, coordinating activities and appointments as needed.
- Communicate effectively and collaborate with the house manager to ensure seamless household operations.
- Perform light housekeeping duties related to the children, such as laundry and tidying up play areas.
- Run occasional errands related to childcare needs.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a nanny or childcare provider, with a strong understanding of child development.
- Ability to adapt to changing environments and routines, maintaining flexibility and a positive attitude.
- Excellent organizational skills, with a keen eye for detail in managing children’s belongings and schedules.
- Clear and effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Commitment to maintaining a clean and organized childcare environment.
- Friendly and nurturing demeanor, fostering a joyful and supportive atmosphere for children.
- Genuine passion for working with children and a natural inclination towards caregiving.
Additional Requirements:
- Willingness to travel with the family occasionally.
- Ability to work collaboratively with other household staff, including the house manager.
- Flexibility to occasionally fulfill the guaranteed 40-hour workweek with household support tasks.
Compensation: $90,000 to $120,000
