Job summary: A warm and friendly South African family needs a sole charge nanny four days a week for their 4.5-year-old daughter and her baby brother born November 2021.
Ideally you can start ASAP and work four days per week Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 8.30 - 5.30pm. There is also the option of working 7.30 - 5.30pm. Once a month they might need you to start a little earlier or finish later as the parents might be traveling for work. Very occasionally they may ask you to babysit.
The 4.5-year-old is in school full time from 8 - 3 pm, some days longer if she has after-school activities. She plays well independently, loves arts, crafts, and dancing. The baby is currently transitioning to bottles, they are introducing a relaxed routine and working on teaching the difference between night and day. You need to follow their routine.
Teaching good values, honesty, kindness, being positive, and encouraging free thinking are important qualities. A nanny who encourages the children to be independent. They are open to feedback, collaboration and want the nanny to be part of the family.
They are happy for the nanny to take the baby for walks and organize activities and take him to classes.
The house is on three floors with space for the parents to work away from the family areas.
Nanny needs to be happy to commit until the end of 2022. It's possible they will extend the contract into 2023.
Duties: Standard nursery duties, children's laundry, emptying the dishwasher, cleaning bottles, and preparing child-friendly meals.
Experience and qualifications required: The family's focus is on finding the nanny who fits best with their family; they are happy to consider junior nannies. Ideally, the nanny will have baby experience familiar with weaning, baby development and milestones.
Skills required: The English-speaking household requires a fluent English-speaking nanny. It’s a plus if you also speak Dutch or French or Spanish.
Agency requirements: Applicants must have an EU passport or already have a permit or visa for the Netherlands. Applicants need a minimum of three years of full-time professional childcare experience, valid pediatric first aid, and a recent police check to register.
