Working Days: Monday – Friday or would be open to looking at 4 full days (12 hours) and 2 half days (6 hours) a week, so at least one weekend day if it was 6 days, open to discussion with candidate. Total, 60 hours per week.

Job Summary: Family of four are looking for an experienced nanny to come and join them in Barbados. You will primarily be caring for B2 and G5 and will have some light housekeeping duties. The family have a housekeeper, but the nanny will do all cooking and help out when housekeeper is off. The family are currently in London until the end of the school year so would love to conduct in person interviews and appoint someone as soon as possible so they can get the visa process underway. The family require someone who is also happy to travel overseas with them on trips.

Accommodation: Apartment supplied by family – will be no longer than 15min drive from family home.

General duties:

All childcare for B2 and G5
Nursery duties
Confident cooking meals for children and family
Getting children ready in the morning, school drop off and pick up (not every day)
Organise fun and educational activities for 2-year-old, outings, play dates
Babysitting when needed
Laundry when housekeeper is away
Keep children’s clothes, toys and belongings organised and tidy and note when items need replacing
Working with the family on overseas trips.

Candidate requirements:

Experienced nanny who has worked with children’s ages
Committed to a long-term role
Spanish speaker
Willing to liaise with the family accountant to arrange visa process
Driver – left hand drive car will be provided
Able to muck-in with tasks, can-do positive attitude
Professional and discreet but friendly and work well in a team with others
Organised individual, able to follow direction and also take initiative to complete tasks you can see need doing
Happy to travel with the family
Past experience and someone who sees childcare as their long-term career
Good knowledge of nutrition and able to cook healthy well-balanced meals
Confident swimmer, someone who loves the sun, water and being outdoors. Naturally a big part of the role being in the Bahamas!
Comfortable with pets/no allergies – none yet but may get a dog
